An inclusive dance and improvisation workshop with games and exercises that are designed to promote creativity, reflection and awareness. This workshop is open to those age 12 and up, and to people of all abilities and levels of experience. We are asking all attendees who are not vaccinated to please wear a mask at this event. If you do not have one with you, one will be provided at the door.

After a thorough warm-up in a circle, we’ll move through the space and work in smaller groups and also show one another what we’ve been working on.  We’ll try to meet each other with generosity and attentiveness and allow for the individuality of each person to fuel the dynamics of the group. There will be time for discussion and sharing, and hopefully plenty of beautiful and hilarious moments!

This workshop is led by Clint Lutes (T-burg High class of 1996/BFA Dance NYU 2002), currently residing in Paris. His choreographic work has increasingly become centered around working with non-professionals and uses dance as a vehicle to inform, connect and communicate. He participated in the research project Störung/Hafra’ah in Freiburg (D) in 2015, bringing together artists, scientists and people with Parkinson’s to study movement disorder. He has worked as a dancer, assistant and collaborator with the choreographer Eun Me Ahn for 20 years, is co-founder of the LUCKY TRIMMER Performance Series in Berlin, and has worked on projects with non-professionals in collaboration with the Theatre National Chaillot, Théâtre de la Ville Paris, Festival Paris Quartier d’Été, Festspielhaus St. Pölten, Theater Freiburg and others.

He went on to co-create the non-profit DaPoPa, which utilizes choreographic, improvisation and somatic practices in its activities. Clint has also joined the research group Labodanse, with improvisation, attention and togetherness being the basis for their studies.

They will be joined by special guest artist Rena Guinn opening the show. Come out and support local music while enjoying a fun and laid-back atmosphere. Don't miss out on this exciting evening of music and community! A few tidbits from the band regarding their previous album, Strangest Wavelength: "The Strangest Wavelength from The Dart Brothers, released in 2020 and nominated for Americana Record of the Year by the Syracuse Music Awards, comes through as a wonderfully powerful classic rock record that touches on Americana and Alternative Country even as songs roll on with passionate vocals and strong guitar work through and through. The Strangest Wavelength album is packed to the brim with some outstanding guitar sections that flow, and wail while vocals keep true to that country twang undertone and give the record a near perfect aesthetic. What's really cool about these songs is that they are a real display of mature songwriting from seasoned musicians and at the same time shows a ton of youthful energy. These are songs the guys had fun recording and performing and you can clearly hear that with just about every single track on the record. It kind of makes you want to see The Dart Brothers perform live." Now is your chance to see this marvelous group perform live at TCFA.
